Wohnberechtigungsschein (WBS) is a certificate that allows you to rent apartments with reduced rent (Sozialwohnung). These apartments have rent caps and are often much cheaper than market rates.

Worth trying! In cities like Berlin, a WBS apartment can cost 30-50% less than market rent. Even if you think you earn too much, check - the limits are higher than many expect.
